Florian Hillenbrand is a covered bond strategist at Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) in Frankfurt. In this role, he is responsible for the assessment of all regulatory, legal and market-related aspects of covered bonds as well as the evaluation of the associated sustainable, green and social activities of covered bond issuers.He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial market. Before joining Helaba in 2025, he worked in various functions at UniCredit in Munich, including covered bond and securitization research, strategic portfolio management, primary market trading and asset liability management with a focus on structured finance transactions. Florian Hillenbrand is a regular speaker at conferences and is a member of the Covered Bond Legislation Round Table. He is a CFA charterholder and holds a degree in economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich.
