Julien Roman is head of FIG Debt Capital Markets (DCM) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Bank of America. He is responsible for the team’s origination of debt capital markets transactions from EMEA based banks, insurance and other alternative financial institutions (asset managers, exchanges etc) across asset classes including unsecured, secured, subordinated and junior capital debt. Julien began his career at Bank of America in 2003 with the FIG DCM team in London and contributed to the teams’ origination of debt capital markets transactions across different jurisdictions such as Greece, UK, Ireland, France and Switzerland and across different sectors such as banks, asset managers and insurance companies. Julien became head of the UK/Ireland FIG DCM team in 2014 before being asked to lead the FIG DCM team for EMEA in March 2019. Before joining Bank of America, Julien spent 5 years in the Emerging Markets Project and Export Finance team of Société Générale in New York. During that time, he worked on a number of projects and export financing transactions in Latin America, North Africa and Central Asia. Julien holds a MBA from Columbia Business School, NY, NY.
