Károly Taksz

Károly Taksz is head of division within the financial institutions department at EIB, overseeing intermediated lending and guarantee operations in EU and EFTA countries in Northern, central, and southeast Europe. Károly has thirty years of experience in the financial sector, spanning both private and public roles. Over the past twenty years, he has held various positions at the European Investment Bank, working across different regions including CEE and Iberia. His work has covered multiple sectors such as transport, energy, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and small and medium-sized enterprises, and he has engaged with a range of clients, including sovereign and sub-sovereign entities, corporations, and financial institutions. He has managed and implemented covered bond and asset-backed securities operations (both cash and significant risk transfer) and structured risk sharing guarantee transactions using EIB resources and EU funds. Károly holds a masters degree in economic and social sciences from Corvinus University of Budapest and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona.
