Kyung-Hwan Kim
Mr. Kyung Hwan Kim has served as president and chief executive officer of the Korea Housing Finance Corporation (KHFC) since September 2024. He holds a doctorate and masters degree in economics from Princeton University (1987), and a bachelors degree in economics from Sogang University (1980). Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Kim has held numerous prominent roles in academia, government, and the real estate sector. His past positions include chairman of the Korea Real Estate Finance & Investment Forum (2023), professor emeritus of economics at Sogang University (2022), and first vice minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (2015). He also served as president of the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlement (2013), the Korea Real Estate Analysts Association (2011), and the Korea Association for Housing Policy Studies (2010), and was a non-executive director at KHFC in 2004. Earlier in his career, he was president of the Asian Real Estate Society (2001), professor of economics at Sogang University (1997), and urban finance advisor at the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (1992). He began his academic journey as assistant professor of economics at Syracuse University (1986) and later at Sogang University (1988).
