Matt Cairns is Head of Fixed Income Strategy at Rabobank, based in London. He leads a team covering financial institutions, asset-backed securities (ABS), covered bonds, supranationals, sovereigns and agencies (SSAs), and the Dutch pension sector. Matt joined Rabobank in 2014 as Senior SSA and Rates Strategist before assuming responsibility for credit strategy in 2020. His research focuses on covered bonds, SSA markets, financial institutions funding, and broader global macro investment themes. He is a regular commentator on fixed income markets and is frequently invited to speak at industry conferences and in the financial media. Prior to joining Rabobank, Matt held credit strategy and investment roles at AXA Investment Managers in London and Paris. Earlier in his career, he held senior strategy and investment positions at UBS, Dresdner Kleinwort, and Moody's Analytics in both Sydney and London. Matt holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
