Murodjon Farmanov is the founding Chief Executive Officer of the Uzbekistan Mortgage Refinancing Company (UzMRC). Since the company’s inception in 2019, Murodjon has been instrumental in establishing the regulatory and operational framework for secondary mortgage market development in Uzbekistan, successfully bridging the gap between local housing finance needs and international capital markets. Prior to leading UzMRC, Murodjon cultivated deep expertise in the global financial institutions sector, holding significant roles with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). His extensive experience encompasses global capital markets, institutional development, and structured finance, providing him with a unique perspective on scaling financial institutions in emerging markets. Murodjon is a CFA® Charterholder. He holds an MSc in Finance from the University of Liverpool and a BSc (Hons) from the Tashkent State University of Economics.
