Richard Merrett is head of secured funding at Nationwide Building Society. He is responsible for both the covered bond and RMBS programmes including the reporting and issuance. Prior to this, he used to run the HQLA book, derivatives and repo desks as head of rates and investments. He joined Nationwide in 2015 after 9 years at Investec Bank working in product control before joining the interest rate derivatives desk. He is a qualified accountant and holds a MEng in mechanical engineering.
