Shelley Tom is a Senior Director of Global Term Funding at CIBC with expertise in structuring, end-to-end management, and fixed income marketing to covered bond, RMBS, credit card ABS, and senior unsecured investors. She also leads the team responsible for managing and optimizing all secured program underlying asset pools. Since CIBC’s inaugural EUR covered bond in September 2008, the bank introduced covered bonds to Australia in 2010, re-opened the USD covered bond market post-GFC, offered the first negative yield EUR covered bond not supported by ECB purchase programs in 2016, and led market opening transactions in EUR in 2022 and 2023 and GBP in 2025. Shelley has an MBA from the University of Toronto and is a CFA charterholder.
